Mr Clean Magic Erasers!!!!!
Best thing to try is the magic eraser. They have gotten out ink and permanent marker for me on wood. Doesn’t work quite as well on paint but it should work for you.
my daughters did it to their dresser, cherry oak.. and it has not come off.. good luck
My fiance recently used rubbing alcohol to remove permanent marker, but it was off of plastic. It worked perfectly. I’m not sure what that would do to the finish of a coffee table. Test it on an inconspicuous spot first if you want to give it a try. Good luck.
Take care with the magic eraser. It can ruin the finish of the wood. It sort of doesn’t matter, since it is ruined with the marker anyway, but you should know what you’re getting in to.
I would try the magic eraser like the other people suggested. I know it sounds weird, but you could also try hairspray. My son wrote on my counter with permanent marker and I got it off with hairspray. It’s also good for pen ink too. Good luck!
