What can I use to clean Crayon mark on black-finish table?

My 2 years old drew all over my coffee table with his grey crayons, I have tried many things such as nail polish remover to clean it but the marks haven’t still come off.. what can I use to clean it without damage the color of the table?

Thanks a million!

Try Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, its amazing!
You can also try some D-Solve-It or Goo-B-Gone.
Those all work very well without ruining your furniture.

Crayons are made of mostly wax. If any cleaning products don’t work, you can blow dry it with a hair dryer. It should melt the wax, and you can easily just swipe it up with dry paper towel while its wet. Instant fix =D

Since crayons are wax based you can use your iron. Put a paper bag over the crayon mark and iron it. The crayon will melt and stick to the paper bag.

We have children and have used toothpaste or hairspray to remove crayon from walls. You could give it a try. Good luck!

Use Naphtha (also sold as lighter fluid), Goof-Off or Goo-Gone. All are solvents for the wax but will not damage the finish. Use a clean soft cloth and keep turning it. Finish up with a good emulsion furniture polish, not Pledge.

Other advice:
- There is no such product as Goo-B-Gone or Goo-Be-Gone
- Nail polish remover (containing acetone) can remove most finishes — do not use it. Acetone is what I use to remove stubborn finish after I’ve stripped furniture.
- Heat can damage your finish, do not iron it
- Alcohol, hairspray, vinegar and toothpaste are not solvents for the wax, all you are doing it scrubbing. Some hairspray contains acrylic that can simply top-coat the crayon.
- Mr. Clean Magic Erasers are a light abrasive. While it may work, it will affect the gloss of your finish and used aggressively can remove the finish and color. You are effectively substituting abrasive action for a solvent that will dissolve the wax.
