Okay, I am not crazy. This has been going on for a few weeks now and had just began getting bad recently. I live in a three bedroom house where only two of the bedrooms are occupied. The one at the end of the hall is my moms. The one on the left closest to the stairs in mine. There is one of the other on the right side across the hallway inbetween our rooms that isn’t used. It has a bed and a couch in it though, and is used like a storage space. I have always been scared of the room and hear weird noises coming from it. Like growls, and I also hear things walking around in there at night. On some nights I also notice a faint orange glow coming from underneath when it’s pitch black. I am nocturnal, and sleep at day and stay up at night. I usually stay in the living room and only go into my room to sleep. Sometimes while I’m in the living room I’ll hear growls and coming from the cabinet and something scratching it with claws from the inside. Once the cabinet opened by itself and I saw two bright orange eyes starting at me. There is something living in that cabinet but it comes out at night. One night I was sitting on my mom’s bed and I felt a claw hit my foot from underneath and sometimes, I’ll see this gooey black ball about the size of a basketball floating with electricity it.. There is a lot more stuff, but some I don’t want to talk about it.

Last night, I kept hearing this angry roar coming from the upstairs room. It was like a roar but at the same time, a gorwl. It was very deep and had a slight raspy tone to it and sounded like nothing I’ve ever heard before. Whatever it was, I didn’t want to see it or be around it when it came out so I ran upstairs into the room and locked the door. It was about 3.30 am and I wasn’t tired so I laid there for another half hour. Then suddenly I heard the roar again and the door swung open and I heard this really heavy-footed thing run out. It breathed heavily and ran down the halls. I freaked out and grabbed a baseball bat and at quietly as possible pened my window in case I had to jump out. I was horrified. It ran into the bathroom and then ran downstairs and went down into the basement. I know it was the basement because the door is heavy and makes a loud sound when it slams. I closed the window, got under the cover, faced the other way and tried my hardest to go to sleep and eventually did. WHen I woke up the next mornign the room door was wide open. It moved to the basement.

What could it have been and how do I make it go away? Could it harm me? Please help, I could find little online about it but there were a few stories where people had similar experiences. I am so scared! Please no rude comments.

I do not want cubpoards hanging on the walls, and I do not want the traditional cabinet/couners. The room is 25 x 15 combining dining room with kitchen, it is all open.
I want the walls to be open for art, and display of my awesome mug collection. I will have in the kitchen the following items:
1-bakers rack for microwave, etc
2-(3) 4 drawer tables to go in front of windows
3-special shelves for dishes
4-(2) solid wood 2′x2′ islands for work stations and storage of pots, pans, etc, they have two shelves under
5-traditional sink base
6-cabinet for oils, vinigars, spices, etc, coffee station will go on top
7-fridge
8-pantry with doors for food
9-3′x5′ island w/ bar and stools that has deep shelves with doors, and drawers to hold silverwear, etc
no dishwasher, I prefer to handwash
my husband stays “inside of the box”, I can’t stand tradition, I am very creative. Everything is high quality wood that I will stain. Can this work?? Thanks!

I have a huge problem with keeping my house clean. I always set out to do it, but only parts of it get done. Our house is just over 2,000 square feet with 3 bedrooms (and an extra one used for storage), 1 bath, a kitchen, dining room, living room and play room. My husband is always getting on my case because I can’t keep the house clean and tidy, but it’s so hard to me. Also I hate it when I do clean and the next day it looks like the same wreck again. I’ll give as many spec’s as I can for a visual. The kitchen is big. It has laminate flooring, lots of counter and cabinet space (just not quite enough that my pots and pans fit nicely), a double sink, fridge, stove and dishwasher. It also has a bi-fold door closet. We have a table and chairs that we sit in the middle, but plan to eventually build an island. There is also another portable dishwasher that sits by the door. The problem in the kitchen is that the floor always looks dirty, and there are always dishes piled up in the sink, even though I do them once and sometimes twice a day (in the dishwasher). The counters always seem to be very cluttered with stuff.

The dining room also has laminate flooring and nice antique furniture and an old piano. There isn’t a real problem keeping up with this room, because we only use it on special occasions.

The living room has laminate as well, with a large area rug in the middle, a big screen (65″ rear projection) t.v. flanked by two glass-front entertainment stands that house DVD’s and components, three piece sectional couch and two end tables with lamps. The complaint i get about this room is that the floor always looks dirty. We have a white boxer, and she sheds a lot on the rug and her hair is all over the floor. This room can tend to be cluttered from eating and putting things on the end tables, but that doesn’t take long to clean up, and I usually do that at night before bed.

The play room is a disaster area to say the least. Our three and a half year old daughter doesn’t put things back where she gets them so they are always all over the floor. This room also has our computer desk, which we just got so all that is on it is the computer. The couch in this room has been serving as my husband and I’s bed (pull-out bed) for a few months because our bed room is being remodeled. So every day i have to put that back away and then get it out again at night. There are three storage bins for toys in this room, but they still don’t hold all the toys! And, yes, i just went through them and got rid of a bunch!

Now for the upstairs…
My oldest daughter’s room is really her issue. It is her job to clean it up, and other than the floor needing vaccuumed all the time, it’s ok for me.

My youngest daughter’s room can get quite messy. She has a doll house and furniture, about 15 bratz dolls and pieces and a desk up there. She also has the end cabinet on her old changing table filled with toys, as well as one of her dresser drawers. Every day I find myself picking everything up off the floor and putting it away again.

Our bedroom is under “construction” right now, so it’s pretty much n/a now.

The bathrom is another problem area. The sink is always filthy, and I have to clean the bathtub everytime I want to bath my youngest daughter (every other day). It always gets scummy. We know we have a mold problem in the floor of the bathroom, and are going to hopefully sometime this year gut the entire thing and start from scratch (sooner than later I hope). But until then, there is always clutter on the sink, dirty clothes on the floor and just blah in the bathroom! That’s the only way to say it.

I am very good about keeping up with the laundry. That’s one thing I like to do! I know alot of this is my bad habits, but I don’t know after 5 1/2 years of marriage how to fix it. I set out to clean, but get one room or thing done and then go watch tv. I don’t want to be a horrible housewife so if anyone has any helpful ideas, thanks so much!

Harcourt Street is located just off the busy streets of Newbury and Boylston. You have the convenience of being just two blocks away, without the inconvenience of double parked cars and countless pedestrians. Harcourt is a small, quaint neighborhood street nestled behind the Copley Square Marriott and the Colonade hotel. In less than a block you are at the entrance of the Prudential Center and Copley Square Mall. One more block and you are at Newbury and Boylston Streets. With countless retail from big names to small boutiques, the Back Bay has it all. The cities finest restaurants are within walking distance, Fenway Park is a mile away, and the entrance to the Mass Pike and I-93 are within blocks of this condo.The condo is fully furnished with all necessary amenities(exactly like in the pics),the unit is equipped with recessed lighting, central air and heat, the condo come with two parking spots,a storage unit where you can deposit my furniture (if you don’t like it and you want use your furniture) ,there is also a linen closet, and most importantly, a new front loading stacked washer and drier…Pets allowed.
The kitchen eating area is a large piece of granite that serves as counter space in the kitchen, and as the table in the Living Room side. The counter seats 4 comfortably. The entertainment center is a beautiful credenza that is topped with a brand new 55′ High-Definition lcd tv. The stereo acts as the 5 speaker surround sound for the tv, the radio and cd player. The stereo also is a dvd player and is capable of having an i pod plugged right into a usb port.The Master Bedroom is large with high ceilings, has two windows, a walk-in closet and it has it’s own bathroom. The room has a large, very comfortable Cali-King bed. There are several dressers with an ample amount of drawers. The room also has a desk with several
drawers and a file cabinet. The walls are decorated with nice artwork and floating shelves. The bathroom has a large, tiled shower stall behind a glass door. The vanity is covered with a beautiful piece of granite and between the vanity, shelves and medicine cabinet, there is plenty of space for toiletries.The Guest Bedroom is actually larger than the Master. It has high ceilings, two large closets and a dresser with two matching nightstands. There is one window, a coffee table and a brand new chair and ottoman. Just outside the door two the bedroom is the Guest Bathroom. The guest bath features a large jacuzzi tub and shower. The vanity is large and is covered with granite. There is also a linen closet, and most importantly, a new front loading stacked washer and drier.The entire unit is 1246 square feet. It has high ceilings, hardwood floors and by being a corner unit, it has 10 large windows. The space below is a commercial unit that has several offices for financial planners and a internet software company. This is great because after 5pm and on weekends, there is nobody below my unit.The building is only 5 stories high. The condominium is two buildings connected by a glass atrium in the middle. There is an elevator and staircase that goes from the lobby, to the garage, and all the way to the top. The elevator takes you to the garage, where my unit has two deeded parking spaces and some shelves and closet space that can be used as storage and can be locked (the condo also come with a storage unit so you’ll have space to deposit all my furniture). The building is located on the boarder of the Back Bay and the South End. As I mentioned, the shops and restaurants are just a block away. To the right of the condo is the South West corridor. This corridor goes from the Back Bay T-station on Dartmouth Street, all the way to Mass Ave. This corridor is lined with parks, a children’s playground, a dog park, tennis and basketball courts. It’s a beautiful place to walk the dog, take a jog, or take the kids to the swings. Sorry this is long, but there are many issues I need to address regarding the roommate lol Here goes….

My old roommate moved out in May, and a girl I knew was going to be looking for a new place in May because her lease was up at her apt. I wasn’t sure how compatable we were as roommates, but I was financially strained, so it was important that I get a new roomie right away and I offered the other room to her. She’s a teacher, so as soon as the school year was up, she was planning to leave the country to travel all summer. She said she had even considered renting a storage unit for the summer so that she didn’t have to pay for a place, but we reached an agreement that both of us were comfortable with so that the room would be guaranteed to her when she got back–she would pay her half of the rent in full each month of the summer, but she wouldn’t have to pay anything on the utilities. I felt that it was a little unfair that she didn’t have to pay ANYTHING (considering that our gas bill and cable is consistent each month, regardless of usage, I thought she should pay SOMETHING on each of those, even if it was just a small portion. after all, i would be vacationing a little bit too!) ANYWAY, that was the agreement that we made, and I could live with that.

Moving along, both of the sofas and the tv in the living room belonged to my old roommate, so once he moved out, the den was completely empty. She and I had agreed that we didn’t want to “split” the cost of new furniture because it would create a conflict about who it belonged to when we moved out and went our seperate ways. We decided it’d be best if we each bought a piece of furniture entirely on our own. A few days later, I mentioned that we should shop together for furniture one day soon, and this was her response: “yeah, I was thinking…I’m planning on moving to Australia next year, so I don’t really want to buy any big things because I won’t be able to take them with me, but if you need anything small, just let me know!” This made me a little angry because it was as if she thought that she didn’t have to contribute anything to this house simply because she was moving away. It’s not like I plan on living in this rental unit forever either! Nonetheless, I understood her reasoning, so I made an offer that I thought was more than fair. The security deposit on the house was $400 ($200 each), so I told her that if she paid the entire deposit (which is refundable upon moving out) that I would buy the furniture. Clearly, I was getting the pricier end of the deal, but I thought any little bit would help at this point. She told me she would think about it…next thing I know, I receive a check for 200 for her half (this was while she was out of the country). When I asked her about the other half she said “yeah, I just didn’t feel comfortable paying the whole thing because what if we don’t get it all back when we move out?” Well, what if you spill something on my furniture? i won’t get that back either! Things happen. Get over it.

Anyway, she also requested that we have seperate cabinets. I didn’t really deem it necessary to have seperate cabinets–we’re both 23 years old, and I think we’re mature enough to share and be considerate of the others’ stuff. Still, she insisted, so she got her own cabinets and I got mine. Now, she always complains about the lack of cabinet space and even had the nerve to say “let’s go together to shop for a kitchen rack that we can put in here for extra room,” as if she thinks I should go in half!!! I offered to share cabinet space with her from the beginning, but she didn’t want to, and now she thinks she has the right to ask me to get shelves!! Also, every time I come home, she has used several of MY dishes! I typically don’t mind sharing, but it’s the principle of the matter at this point–she wanted to keep her things from me, so she shouldn’t use things that are mine either. Not to mention that she never puts them in the dishwasher, and if I want the place to be clean, I’m always forced to wash the dishes. I also ALWAYS am the one to take out the trash, clean out the fridge, mow the lawn, etc.

I’m getting really frustrated because she’s been so demanding, yet has this mentality that it’s my responsibility to take care of everything at the house. I said something one day about how I hadn’t been successful at getting anything new in the house all summer, and she said “yeah, I’ve noticed” as if she weren’t happy about it. It’s becoming really irritating, but I dont want to cause a feud because I really need her half of the rent coming in, quite frankly, and if I make her too angry, she’s liable to just leave (my name is the only one on the lease). I don’t think it would come to that, but you never know…

Anyway, I guess what I really want to know is do you think I’m being unreasonable? I have tried to hard to meet her halfway on everything, but I just get mad every time I talk t

We are “remodeling” our 1/2 bath. We are going to put in new floors. We aren’t sure if we should replace or paint the existing cabinet. If we replace the cabinet, I feel we should replace the kitchen cabinets as well. If we just paint, all we’d need to do is get a new vanity top (countertop). I originally wanted a pedestal sink but after much thought, I need storage space so the pedestal sink is out. We are going to keep the current toilet. Should we get a new cabinet and not worry about the kitchen cabinets or paint the existing cabinet and update it with hardware?

Ok. So a small recap. (advice really)

If I want it – I should be sure it is in the lease. So for instance – I want freezer space ask for it to be put in the lease. If I want closet/storage space ask for it in the lease. If I want cabinet/pantry space ask for it in the lease.

Yes. My landlord is a nut job. But as I said right now I can’t move. I have a wife (yes – the story gets better) and we live in a room that is about 10×10. We have 1 dog and 2 cats. Our dog is a ‘agressive’ breed dog although you would never know it if you met him. She is working part time (making under 1k a month) and going to school. We live in southern california and I commute over 100 miles a day. We are in major debt and are trying to get out of it.

So – now – whats the solution?

I have a storage space at the top of my bedroom wall it has 2 light wooden cabinet doors.

My bedroom walls are white with light blue trim. One wall has wallpaper trim that is blue and rose.
The blue trim goes around the cabinet doors too.

My furniture is dark brown I guess kind of mahogany color. Floor is wooden. My door is white. One closet door is light brown but I want to paint that white.

Should I paint the cabinet doors white or blue? Or maybe rose?

lol dilbertina yes it’s in pretty bad shape right now. Well what i did was i ordered these vintage white shutters that were made into a little divider type thing..it fits the hole pretty well. But I like your idea about ordered vintage doors for both the bottom and top…..

I’m make-ing over my bedroom a bit. What we are going to do is, because of the small size, putting the TV in the unused closet (as opposed to against a wall in the room). We’d like the cabinet to fill the entire space of the closet, except for an inch or so on each side so that the cabinet doors can slide against the sides of the cabinet when the cabinet is open. The TV cabinet should either have 2 or 4 doors. The top section of the cabinet will be a large open space in which we’ll put the TV, and the bottom portion will have 3 shelves in it for DVD/such storage. Anyway, we are also going to convert my bed into a daybed so that viewing the TV will be very comfortable. We don’t need the daybed railing unless necessary. Here’s the list of what we’ll need:

Custom TV cabinet (w = 45″, h = 78″, d = 24″)
Daybed cushions (enough to cover the wall of 83″ and possibly the head/foot board things of 42″)

I just re-did my room (Im 14) and I absolutely LOVE the colors. They are blue, lime green and orange. Here is what I have:
A lime green and blue bedspread with lime green, blue and orange pillows and orange sheets. My room will be painted light blue but right now it is a very ugly tan. I have a blue beanbag, white furniture, 4 lanters (1 blue, 1 green, 2 orange) these orange beads hanging above my bed, orange storage things all around the room, a blue rug and this doll cabinet which will be moved out soon.

Here are my questions:
1. It still feels ugly and not bright and colurful. After I paint it will it lose this feel?
2. What should I replace the doll cabinet with? I was thinking of a white lounge chair with blue pillows but do YOU have any idea?

The issue is an OLD office file cabinet that me and my other co worker lugged in from office storage from a 3rd location, we’ll they don’t know that i know they are telling my district coordinator that it has to be put back. Well the coworker that helped me move it has quit since and It wont fit in my car. To make it so bad they could hire movers but because its me they wont, My supervisor asked me if i knew anyone with a truck and i said no which is true but even if they did how dare i volunteer their car! The co worker that quit said they are playing on my personality- the fact that im independent so they are going to say “She never told us she needed help to move the file cabinet” Mind you , they already know it needs to be moved. Anyhoo I’m thinking wait until late Friday right before I leave for good to say…”Oh, the only thing left in that office is the file cabinet”….then drop my key off and bid them good bye. We have a standard EMC 40u rack (RACK-40U-60) for enterprise storage and plan to add Dell server nodes to the cabinet. Unfortunately, the standard Dell versarail kits are too long for the vertical rails inside the EMC cabinet – in other words, the vertical rails in the EMC cabinet are too close together to accommodate the shortest configuration of the Dell versarail kit.

I’m hoping someone has experience racking Dell servers in an EMC cabinet and can shed some light on a rail kit option (manufacturer and model – whether from Dell, EMC, or otherwise) that will fit the EMC rack and also accommodate the 1U Dell server (PowerEdge 1950). We’ve tried Dell and EMC support with no luck.

One desk is for my sewing, I have a sewing machine and a serger on it, I really need a bigger or two desks for that. And the second desk in the living room is my husbands jewelry bench, though he uses it for all of his projects.

Other info:
The desk is the widest thing you can put between the closet door and the door leading into the bedroom. Only other thing that can fit there would be the bookcase, I think, but I’d like to somehow keep that near the desk, if at all possible.

The chest that’s across from the bed is huge (it’s actually an old china cabinet that I’m using for storage – 7 ft tall, I think), and will only fit on the wall it’s currently on. I CAN get rid of it, though.

I have a radiogram that is a Hmv made in England, possibly in the 1950s or early 1960s It has a turntable in the cabinet, RC 54 Collaro and another door that pulls open the top side front for the radio.The bottom has two doors for storage. It is made out of wood ,decorated with maplewood .It belonged to my parents, as they bought it in 1962 or there abouts. we are putting down new laminate hardwood floors and carpet. we need to get all new cabinets and appliances, we need furniture and storage. and we are remodeling the bathrooms. any ideas on how to do this the cheapest way possible? we definately need storage for the playroom. and its a 3 bed, 2 bath. light wood paneling all throughout and red brick fireplace and brick all over that wall..

Okay so this bathroom was supposed to be spa-like before we moved in its has a jacuzzi bathrub and it had a steamer. Nobody every uses this bathroom really because its kind of dreary and its in a poolroom. My mom said it wold be okay to decorate it if i didn’t wan’t major changes. My cousin, his wife, and his two children (ten and six) have been staying at my parent’s house (where I live, since I’m 15) since the 31st of July. It is now the 1st of December. It has been four months, and they show no signs of leaving. Let me explain why they are here.

Four months ago they managed to leave Cuba based on political refuge. Our extensive family here decided that we were going to help them (and by help, they mean dump them on us and visit once in a while). Our parents decided that they would house them until they get jobs and can move out. Well, they planned on maybe two months. But first, the work permits took very long. Eventually, about a month ago, they both got jobs. Yet they’re still staying.

Now here’s the situation: I had to give them my room so they could live with us. I agreed because I thought it would be for a couple of months. Both my parents are saying, however, that even after FOUR months, they’re staying for at least two more, making it officially at least half a year. When I gave them my room, I agreed to sleep in the office, which is a small, ten by ten room. There are two large computer desks, a filing cabinet, a night stand, all the movies, a tower, and three computer chairs in that room. I’m sleeping on an air bed. The room, even though I’m sleeping in it, is still being used as an office, meaning there are people in it ALL THE TIME and I don’t have anywhere to go. I have three drawers and half a closet for all my clothes. The closet is brimming with storage things like a piano, another filing cabinet, boardgames, and various other things. The closet is also tiny.

All four of them are sleeping in my room, where more than half of my stuff still is. They have my computer. The youngest one is constantly eating and drinking in there, and we have hardwood floors. In case you didn’t know, food and liquid can permanently damage hardwood floors. He is also constantly throwing things on the floor, leaving dents. Neither of his parents ever discipline him, so he has no respect whatsoever. He will literally yell back and kick and scream and disobey whatever you say. The older one is more calm, but she doesn’t understand the meaning of punishing. Whenever my sister and I try to punish the younger one for being highly disrespectful (using his toy gun to throw bullets at people’s faces, calling everyone fat, stupid monkeys, taking our stuff gleefully, ect.) she immediately comforts him and gives him whatever she wants. I know she’s a good kid at heart, but she doesn’t understand that her brother is literally spoiled rotten to the core. It’s hard to describe his atrocity.

Neither of his parents understand and rarely take action against the kids. They allow them to watch obscene movies and TV shows in front of OUR TV for hours on end. They allow them to use OUR Wii without permission (if it were up to me, which it should be, no six year old would be allowed to USE a Wii), and use all our computers endlessly.

I cannot stand sleeping on an air mattress any longer. I have nowhere to do my homework, there is never peace and quiet, and now I hate being in my house. The parents always comment on everything we do and make us uncomfortable in our own home. And when asked why it appeared that they weren’t looking for an apartment, my cousin said that he was worried that he would be fired and wouldn’t be able to pay for it. To me that sounds like an excuse, because people do that every day.

They are living under our house, using our resources, wasting our water and energy (because they use highly energy-inefficient things like hair dryers daily for thirty minutes each), and live under their OWN rules. Is it right of them to intrude upon this house any longer, or do you think four months of this ungratefulness is enough?

What kind of storage areas/systems/space would you want in it?

i work in the photo department at a newspaper, we have to squeeze 5 cranky photographers, three desks, a table, a few random file cabinets and a storage desk into a 12 by 12 space.
we need an office makeover!

We have a 3 year old neutered male cat, GQ, a 2 year old spayed cat, and a 6 month old spayed female puppy, who all get along nicely. The two cats have been best buds and inseperable since we adopted them several years ago. Our puppy and kitties get along nicely, and don’t really interact much at all.

The cats have their own section of the house where the dog cannot go unless under 100% supervision by us (we established that the cats were here first…ie. it is their domain)

Anyway, our fixed male cat lately has been peeing in the bathtub (we have caught him a couple times), or the soft bathmat, or his little cat bed, and sometimes the dog bed in the living room. His litter box is self-cleaning, ALWAYS clean, we use crystals, baking soda mixture–the whole deal…the same for the past 3 years…Why has he started to do this?

Notes:
We took him to the vet–he has nothing wrong, no urinary tract infection–nothing. Perfectly fine.

The self-cleaning electric litterbox has always been his litterbox–but with no top on it–just out in the open. Since we got the dog and did not want her eating the litter and poo, my fiancee made a cat litter cabinet out of a huge bamboo storage trunk with a lid–for privacy and so it looks nicer–so now they have to go inside the hole he cut out in the side of the “box” to go potty. Could that be the problem? He goes poo fine in the litter box, but every once and a while he chooses to pee in weird places.

Anyone have similar stories? Ideas to help him? Should we take the litter box out of the storage trunk and have it out in the open again(we’re thinking the bamboo is absorbing the scent and making him not want to go in there? But our girl cat has no issue with it!)

No changes is in diet as of yet. Still eating the same food and amount as always!

I mean my boyfriend (on last leg), backs up and down the street looking for a meter with time on it. I truely believe he takes food out of my cabinets when he leaves.

I have a big house with lots of stuff laying around. Nothing real expensive but things that I would like to keep for myself. I am thinking about setting up a video to catch him stealing (ex. sugar, coffee, creamer, canned foods, storage bags, laundry detergent and other things that have gone missing). If he would be short on something and asks for it I would not mind sharing. I really hate a thief…especially a petty thief.

The main thing about the house is that it is very cluttered. It’s a one story house and we have carpet in everyroom but the bathrooms (two, one’s being re-done and the kitchen) All of the storage space (closets cabinets) is take up. How do you sucessfully clean a house like this, with tips.

Ex.
1. Clean all spider webs from the ceiling

Plus, we’re trying to repaint. Plus, we don’t know where to start. And hiring a cleaning crew is out of the option. And we can’t set things outside because right now there is at least 12 inches of snow. Thanks!

On the lighter side, I’d say keeping drugs out of the hands of the Dallas Police Dept.

On a serious note, I think raising our children in an atmosphere of compassion, understanding & clear parental guidance would curb a lot of the desire for child to want to alter their reality B4 they even know what reality is.
Secondly, they should be supplied with factual information about drugs., i.e. “Yes, they can make you feel good, but while staying in that ‘feel good’ place, you will never learn how to handle the hard problems in life that don’t feel good. But you need to learn these skills to get past your problems so that the problem is GONE and not waiting to kick you in the butt again b/c you never learned how to cope with real life in the1st place.”

What are other ideas? Either on the home front or in society?

I recently remodeled my kitchen, the people that installed my kitchen cabinets put them up really high, to the point were I can only comfortably reach the bottom shelf. I belive they are 21 inches from the countertop. I paid so much money for them, they are beautiful and have tons of storage but I cant reach them, they are too high. I want to take them off and lower them so i can reach them, can this be done safely without damaging them? I cannot get a hold of the guy who installed them.

Long story short… I can’t find an apartment in the City of Chicago that has windows that actually do their job. My new apartment, and by “New” I mean my first summer here, is owned by a Polish guy so, surprise surprise, he hired unskilled Polish Labor to “Upgrade” the windows, do the tile-work, etc. etc. etc. which means that nothing was done right and blind chimps might have been able to do a better job. (I’m from Arizona, I can tell Skilled Latino Labor from Unskilled Polish Labor from a mile away…)

So anyways…

I’m using the back bedroom as a den and put some planters in the window for herbs but the windows are so poorly installed that it is the wild freaking kingdom in there.

I was able to put “Great Stuff” foam in around the wall-mounted Air-Conditioner to stop the bees from coming in but now I have spider mites on my plants and when I go in there in the morning, the bugs are, literally, just climbing in through the window frame.

We are not “Dirty” people and there is nothing in that back room but file cabinets, storage, and the two planters that I’m going to empty anyways so there is no reason but temperature for the bugs to be coming in that window.

So I want to take plastic sheeting, seal the windows, then put up curtains so I can’t see that there is plastic.

In the past, I used Translucent Sheeting for privacy but I have no need of that here and would like to use clear plastic to seal but I’m not sure how to do it in a way that won’t hurt the walls like the packing tape and gaffers tape I used at my last apartment, when I pretty much WANTED to do damage to the walls around the windows.

I like it here and want to keep things as nice as possible.

How do you seal the windows, like most people here do in winter, without harming the frame?

It seems so simple in hind sight after learning about this product.

No’Brainer… I know… But sometimes the obvious is too big to grasp until someone tells you specifically what to look for.

So I need:
1. Double Sided Window Tape
2. Shrink Plastic
3. Hair Dryer

I’m going to ask if there is anything thicker I can use to help with insulation but if not, I will go with the kids.

My husband and I just bought a house and I’m moving in all of my stuff. The biggest storage problem is our bathroom… we have double sinks and 4 doors to the cabinet, but NO DRAWERS! I’m a makeup and product girl, and I need to be able to get to it easily without opening the door, then pulling out a plastic drawer, then digging in the drawer near my ankles for what I need. I have a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee and I the finishing on my rims is coming off. I was going to originally just going to get all new rims but then my parents said it might be cheaper to just get them powder-coated. They had just gotten a table powder coated, and I was talking to the guy their and he said that for about $60 per wheel they could paint them what ever I wanted. I would just get them chrome or just a metallic silver. Or should I just buy new rims?
