Tequilas, vodkas, Uzo….these staples I have.

Barleycorn is advertising a new years eve package for $100 : “inclusive New Year’s Eve party package including a premium bar featuring wine, domestic and imported beers and premium liquor, plus an upscale buffet featuring appetizers”

Does this mean an open bar? Or would we still have to pay for drinks?

I just turned 21 and im kinda new to the 21 and over club thing lol….im tired of the same ole’ cranberry and vodka, screwdrivers, jolly ranchers, what are some other good, “girly” drinks, and good wines to order?

I thought that we’d have Bibles at every table. We could witness to all the patrons. We could show religious broadcasts on the big screen TV’s and feature Christian music on the jukebox. All the napkins would have scriptures on them. I would hire good Christian girls as the waitresses and I would hire retired clergymen for the bartenders.

We could be open on Sundays and hold a church service, which would include full service bar with wine, beer and mixed drinks.

Do you think this could be successful?

My fiance and I are throwing my mother a surprise 50th birthday party. I plan to hold it at a local restaurant and serve various heavy hor dourves. I personally feel that we should cover the cost of the bar (I certainly dont want to, but I feel its tacky if we dont). My fiance thinks its fine to have the guests buy their own drinks. If we went this route, we would supply pitchers of soda for the guests as I wouldnt feel right about not giving them anything to drink.

This will also be a surprise from my Dad. I dont know if the man has ever kept a secret, not to mention, I dont want him to give me any money towards it (he’s been saving for 5 years for the boat of his dreams and hes almost there! ).

I’m thinking of the cross section of relatives and friends and if the average number of drinks each (some will drink a lot, and others not at all) is less expensive than what the bar package would be ($17). I think an across the board average of 3 drinks would just tip the scales.

True, guests will not be expected to pay anything, but as far as the restaurant is concerned, it’s operating like a cash bar (only all the drinks are going on one tab).

It’s called a Corking Fee. You pay a certain fee to the restaurant in exchange for bringing your own alcohol.

We are having a 4 hour open bar at our wedding along with heavy hors d’oeuvres and a pasta and salad station. Cake and coffee at the end. Anyhow, I want to have an actual bar menu with 2 martinis (one sweet one tart), 3 or 4 cocktails, 2 beers (reg and light) and 2 wines (chard and somethign else). I vote for not inviting children to the reception. I mean having all of your family members there celebrating with you is more important than your guests getting their free drink on. I mean, as long as there is the standard fare: champagne and wine then there’s nothing wrong with cash bars. But not inviting the kids, that’s mean. What do you all think?

Hello, I am wondering how do I apply for beer and wine license, for a karaoke club in San francisco. It is not really a bar, just many private room for karaoake guest. Some are minor, we just want to provide optional service to sell beer and wine. Does anybody know the process and requirement to obtaining such license, the Karaoake club operates from 4pm to 2am. I went to a wine bar last night and they served me a wine which they said was a Beaujolais, but I was under the impression that you can only get this type of wine for a limited time after november, because of its short “drink by” date and the date of harvest being September. Am I correct, and I was ripped off, or can you get Beaujolais from different harvests in the year?

If this manager is responsable for for doing adjustments on mistakes managing things on the floor, like organizing the servers into sections checking that every department is working accordingly even seating customers, also give

My husband and I love lambrusco. Due to the fact that it is a “junk” wine, it is difficult to find it in bars and restaurants. Is there anything that we might like that is similar to it? I don’t like merlot or pinot…much too dry.

When I go to a bar–I usually order the same thing over and over again (Amoretta Sours).
But for starters, it would help to know what the difference is in the above mentioned….

Nahhh…never really had a desire to go on alcohol explorations before as a kid. LOL–that’s why I don’t know the difference in any of them.

I have a business(bar restaurant) in Orange County, California. My business is in a separate building and has its own parking lot. My business has a license to serve beer and wine, so most of my customers come to my business do drink beer and wines. The problem I have is that the polices come to my business, and drive around my building so often during my business hours. This is really scare my customer away. They also park in the plaza next to my business, so as soon as my customer leave our bar, they pull them over and test for alcohol. Since this happened, rumor has spread around, so I lost a lot of customers, and this really effects my business. I’ve been loosing a lot of moneys for month. My question that is it legal for them to do that if it is how can stop this. Please help me, I really appreciate it. Thanks

I found the PERFECT place to have my wedding and reception (fits my budget as well). The only problem is that they exclusively use a specific caterer (which does not fit in my budget). So my question is: If I have my ceremony at 8:00 pm and the reception from 9:00-midnight is it acceptable to only serve deserts, beer, and wine?

I know nothing about this business, but a manager said his hostess position pays 7.50 an hour (which is crap), but I should technically be making 11-15 per hour with tips added. He said the restaurant splits all of the tips at the end of the day.

A while back, I bought a beautiful iron bottle rack wine bar holder at an auction at a very high end furniture store. I think it is about 2 1/2 to 3 feet in height and about 3 1/2 in length. Its all in black and has beautiful grapes and leaves but all in iron. A glass sits on top of the rack for wine glasses. It just does not match the inside of our NEW house. I was thinking about taking it out side under a wood porch. I will REALLY match the black patio table. I just don’t know if it will rust and wonder if I should pray it with some kind of protection. You pay by the glass and they brag that u can get a glass of wine for as low as 25 cents or try an expensive wine for up to 26.00 dollars a glass. I went to a wine bar sometime back and got a cheese board with nuts cheese bread and fruit and they served a type of cheese (it was obvious that it was from a wheel) that was soft and spreadable and tasted sort of like Laughing Cow Swiss Cheese, but I don’t know what kind it was! I have a friend who works at a wine bar as a server and a group of people at one table walked out without paying their bill. Her employer says she has to pay their bill. Is this legal? Is there anything she can do besides quit? Or even if she does quit is there some legal action she can persue? If you can, please provide a link to a site that would deal with these types of laws. A few reception sites I’m looking at don’t include a bar option in their package deals. So, I’m wondering how much extra an open bar would be for 130 people?

Does wine get spoilt in the first place ? can an unopened bottle be spoilt as well? I have to clean up my dad’s bar and id really appreciate some help. thanks.
